Nicolas Nelson joined Keay & Costello, P.C. in February 2010. He was licensed to practice law in Illinois in 2008. Before joining Keay & Costello, P.C., Nicolas was a solo practitioner focusing on criminal law and civil litigation. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.
At Keay & Costello, P.C., Nicolas is focusing primarily in the areas of Family Law and Civil Litigation. He also continues to work on Criminal Law matters for the firm.
Mr. Nelson was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While attending law school, Nicolas was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar as a student and was able to represent clients in housing repair disputes. He was also an associate editor for Hamline’s Journal of Public Policy.
Nicolas graduated in 2002, cum laude, from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa for his undergraduate degree in Communication. Before law school, Nicolas worked in the media for eight years. He was an assistant producer for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild radio broadcasts and worked as the assistant producer for nbcolympics.com during the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Winter Olympics. Nicolas is married and has two children.
